Red Screes, The Lake District

I’ve very lucky to live an hour’s drive from the heart of the Lake District. So we met up with some good friends and walked up Red Screes (776m) – followed with some quality food!

The route itself was about 8 miles or so from the village of Ambleside due north up Scandale Fell, onto the summit of Red Screes and then a straight line back to Ambleside. We got some great conditions and it made me wish I’d brought my SLR for a few “quality” shots. Afterwards we ate at a place called Lucy4 which I highly recommend if you have a night out in Ambleside!

  2. Wow Red Screes makes for a great walk, went there years ago – much quieter than Scafell Pikes or other well known fells. Some great shots, makes me want to go back!
