I just spent a couple of weeks driving around California with my girlfriend and brother and it’s taken me a week to put the pictures together. This is mainly caused by a combination of jet-lag and getting depressed looking at the photos and how wonderful it was!
We flew into San Francisco and stayed there a few days. We then drove up to Reno for a spot of gambling (we were planning to go to Yosemite but couldn’t find any accommodation so resorted to plan B). After a couple of days we then drove down to Ventura near Santa Barbara to a beach house for a week. Then we spent a couple of days in LA and flew home.
We covered a lot of miles but had a fantastic time. We also took a lot of photos and I’ve put a small collection of them here so you can get a taste of what we got up to…
Great photos, John and weird fog! Did you shoot a man in Reno, just to watch him die? π
So that’s where you’ve been. Nice pano of Lake Tahoe.
Well, I’ll get back outside, shovel some snow and pretend it’s sunny California. π
Jammy bugger. I love that area. Great photos though.
I was surprised to see you with the cig until I realised it was your brother. That is spooky.
So what are you saying, that my brother looks like me? I’ve never heard that before. π
Great photos π
Americans claim their stake on life by their cars π The bigger my car is, the more important I am, right? Well, that seems to be the concept. Now, don’t be started on SUV’s. This “family vehicle” is getting to be about the size of you people’s lorries. Very upsetting for little sports car people like me. They don’t even hear me honk because they’re so far up π¦
wow…my English needs help:
“now, don’t get me started on SUV’s” π
John, I’ve been noticing a trend here.
All your angst is disappearing. Could it be that you’re all mellowed out, and the reason for writing your log has evaporated?
We have stories about injuries, being bitten, and then, dreaming about holiday (or ‘adventure’ as you so boyishly put it), philosophy and decision making mechanisms, and then some holiday snaps!
What is the world coming to?
Nothing could be further from the truth! In actual fact, a lot’s been happening that I just don’t want to write about right now. I’d rather wait and sort my head out than write a bunch of rambling negative articles about nothing in particular.
All in good time. π
