Ohmygod. I can hardly believe it. It’s not often it happens but when it does I wish it would happen all the time. It’s going to be great. I am of course talking about my impending week’s holiday. Like I said, I don’t take enough holidays (well, as a contractor I don’t get paid for them) but I really need a break from it all.
I’ll be spending a week in Beaune near Dijon in France. I’ll be doing such things as sunbathing, drinking wine, drinking small bottled beers, kicking a football around, entertaining my friend’s children (whether I like it or not) and I’ll probably take a trip to Paris for a day or two (no, not Paris, Texas, the other one) to check out some of the museums and art galleries. But mainly I’ll just be relaxing and having a good time. Oh, and remembering how bad my conversational French is (pretty bad I’m sure).
I may even take my laptop with me (sad loser, eh?). I’ve got this cool rucksack that I can put all my normal hand luggage in and it’ll also hold my laptop. The wonders of modern technology never cease. So I might post to the site with some pictures of what I’m up to. Although I might not – I might be having too much fun. Either way I’ll take some pics and post them when I get back.
Anyway, while I’m away I’d recommend you take this opportunity to have a look through the Archives as I’ve added categories for everything I’ve posted…
I’ll be back in lovely Yorkshire in just over a week. And I’m missing it already (even though I don’t actually leave until tomorrow). Take care and I’ll see you later!
A bottle of fine red wine wouldn’t go amiss old chap…… So leave the laptop behind and squeeze a bottle or three in for us poor folk back in Blighty 🙂 Have fun

Thank goodness this news didn’t send Andy into panic mode – you UK fellas have a tendency toward taking vacations at the most inopportune times…(inopportune for him, that is). 😉 Enjoy yerself.
